Hi, I’m Olivier.
I’m Olivier Testa, an EMT and a pre-med student at UC San Diego. I make LevlPrep, and I run it myself.
Why I built it
I was tired of textbooks that throw information at you and leave you to sort it out. I wanted lessons you do rather than read: short steps that ask you something, each one building on the last, so nothing turns up before you’ve been taught what it rests on. That is what every course here is built around, and a script checks the order on every change to the site.
I used it myself
I studied for the NREMT with LevlPrep’s NREMT-EMT course, and I passed: the exam shut off at 70 questions, the fewest it gives. That is one person’s result, not a promise about yours. What I can promise is that the course is the one I wanted when I was studying.
How it is made and checked
- Original. Every question, lesson and explanation is written for this site. None is copied from an exam, a textbook’s test bank or another prep product.
- Checked twice. Science content gets a second accuracy check by a reviewer who did not write it, and automated checks run on every change.
- Honest labels. A course says Beta until a teacher or instructor in that subject has reviewed it, and the NREMT bank has not yet been reviewed by a paramedic or EMS instructor. The Sources page says exactly what each course is written against and what has not happened yet.
- Corrections in public. Every question has a Report a problem link, and fixes are listed on What’s new.
Free, and what Premium is
All notes and textbook pages are free forever, with no ads. Premium is a one-time pass, never a subscription, and if it isn’t what you expected you can refund it yourself, in full, from your Account page within 7 days (Free vs Premium, terms).
What LevlPrep is not
It is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, the College Board, UC San Diego, OpenStax or any training program. AP® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, this site.
